The Crown has been collecting a huge number of Emmy nominations!

Netflix's The Crown was a smash hit around the world and very quickly has become one of the most popular television shows in the modern era.

Stars of the show Olivia Colman (the Queen), Josh O'Connor (Prince Charles) and Emma Corrin (Princess Diana) all received Emmy nominations this year for their outstanding performances in the show.

The show was also nominated for the best drama series award, which many have tipped it to win.

All in all, The Crown was nominated for 24 awards, matched only by The Mandalorian.

It will undoubtedly be a good night for the British nominees at the Emmys. Michaela Coel's critically acclaimed I May Destroy You is nominated in the competitive limited series category, where it will be competing with Mare of Easttown, The Queen's Gambit, Barry Jenkins' Underground Railroad, and WandaVision.

Best actress in a limited series/movie is a category that is dominated by Britons. Michaela Coel, Kate Winslet and Cynthia Erivo are also nominated for the award. Winslet is tipped to bring it home following her incredible performance in the Mare of Easttown.

British men are also in a strong position for best actor in a limited series/movie, with hopes resting on Paul Bettany (WandaVision), Ewan McGregor (Halston), and Hugh Grant (The Undoing).

The Boys, Bridgerton, The Handmaid's Tale, Lovecraft Country, Pose and This Is Us are all nominated for Best Drama Series alongside The Crown and The Mandalorian.

The Crown is expected to win several of the awards it is nominated for - though everyone involved in the show will no doubt have their eyes on the Best Drama Series award.
