Broken down into ten modules, this course is an introduction to how the Iron Age developed across Europe and other parts of the known world.
The Iron Age is a rich and vast period of time that covers multiple civilisations and cultures and there is always room to learn more about the various occurrences, people, art and social movements that happened in the Iron Age’s thousand-plus years.
The course will mainly focus on south-east Europe, where the Iron Age is believed to have begun, and central Europe and Britain, which saw the tribal formation of the people we most associate with the Iron Age – the Celts.
