Introducing you to Viking society, considering how it was organized in terms of class and standing, and the laws and governance that enabled the society to thrive. You’ll become familiar with where and how they lived and explore marriage, divorce, and gender differences between women and men.

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Be familiar with all aspects of Viking society
  • Be able to identify key moments of the Viking Era in Britain
  • Understand the political and economic reasons for the start of the Viking era
  • Be knowledgeable about the skills and technology Vikings used to become successful explorers and traders
