Among the oldest Christian sites in England, Glastonbury, Somerset, is rich with history and lore. Legend has it that Joseph of Arimathea brought the Holy Grail here to England and founded the abbey in the 1st century. In 1191, the tomb of King Arthur and Guinevere were purportedly discovered buried beneath the High Altar of the abbey church.
