The concept of Monarchy has struggled to survive around the world, but not in the mighty United Kingdom.
A Monarchy is a form of government in which the monarch is the head of state until death or abdication. Of course in the UK's case, the monarch is more of a symbolic role.
While monarchies worldwide have collapsed as their respective populations have lost faith in them, the UK has stayed strong.
King and country share an imitable bond that has sustained through thick and thin, even despite the scandals that have plagued the Royal Family of late, support for the monarchy remains strong.
In 1900, there were more than 20 monarchies across Europe.
Over the course of the century that followed, this would go on to change. War, rebellion, and political unrest caused multiple states to reject their monarchies and opt for a more traditional government.
