Lovers of period dramas, rejoice! The trailer for Love & Friendship has arrived! Based on Jane Austen's novella Lady Susan (though the title seems to be inspired by the juvenile story Love and Freindship written by Jane at age fourteen), this one is a must for anyone who enjoys Georgian era costumes, comedic scheming and elegant, dry wit. "If she were going to be jealous, she should not have married such a charming man!" the titular character complains of her lover's wife.

Lady Susan, "the most accomplished coquette in England," is an attractive yet broke widow who flirts and seduces her way through society while seeking husbands for both herself and her daughter. See the trailer and fall in love with her.

Directed by Whit Stillman (The Last Days of Disco, Metropolitan), the film stars Kate Beckinsale who praised her character in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "Jane Austen women are very--this particular one is very atypical, that I got to play. Rapacious and very naughty and spirited and a bit evil, so that was a real treat."

Love & Friendship opens this May.
