Fans of WWII history will be excited to catch 'Munich - The Edge of War'

Munich - The Edge of War is based on Robert Harris’ 2017 novel Munich, which blends fact and fiction to tell a story set on the eve of the outbreak of the Second World War.

The film is centered around a fictional political aide named Hugh Legat, who along with a former University friend from Germany becomes involved in a plot to bring about Hitler’s demise at an emergency conference in Munich – all while Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain continues to enact a policy of appeasement.

George MacKay stars as Hugh Legat in a cast that includes German actor Jannis Niewöhner starring as his former university friend Paul von Hartmann, who now works as a German diplomat. Legendary British actor Jeremy Irons will play Neville Chamberlain while Mark Lewis Jones plays Chamberlain's secretary Sir Osmund Cleverly.

Other cast members include Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown Findlay, Vigil’s Anjli Mohindra, Toni Erdmann’s Sandra Huller, Babylon Berlin’s Liv Lisa Fries, and Inglourious Bastards star August Diehl.

Christian Schwochow (Je Suis Karl, Bad Banks) pairs with Producer Andrew Eaton (The Crown, Rush), who previously both worked on different seasons of The Crown. Frank Lamm (Je Suis Karl, Bad Banks) is in charge of the camera work and the music is composed by Isobel Waller-Bridge (Emma, Fleabag).

The film is set to be released on Netflix later this month, but will also be shown in selected theaters around the world.
