British Heritage Travel reader Nancy Knoche wins our February photo competition with this gorgeous picture of York Minster. Read below for additional information behind the photo!
"This photo was taken on my first trip to England. Figuring it might be my first and only one, I tried to cram in as much as possible into two weeks. After flying into London, we began in Colchester at the home of a pen-pal friend I'd had for over 40 years. He and his wife hosted us for two days and took us to Lavenham, Aldeburgh, and Minsmere nature reserve. Next we rented a car and headed for York, arriving at the end of the day just in time to walk The Wall and tour York Minster. This picture is from that day! I took nearly 2,000 photos and we drove over 1,800 miles, but it was well worth it. The trip was a fabulous overview of Britain and convinced me that I must go back."
